During startup, the device uses audible cues to guide you. Release the MODE button when you hear a single brief beep—that beep signals normal startup is proceeding after your input. If you keep holding or wait for a later cue, you may enter a different mode or disrupt the boot process. Other signals, like a blinking battery indicator, point to low power, and simply hearing the device power on and stop beeping doesn’t indicate the correct timing for releasing. So the single-beep moment is the correct cue to release.
